Made-in-America

'Conscious America’ is a site designed, in hope, to show that we can control many critical aspects of our lives, if we choose to accept responsibility for the choices that we make.

Democracy (American style)Date Released: 05/08/2005
Everyone I see on TV or hear on the radio keeps insisting that America carries the torch of Democracy, and our aim is to protect and share this 'beacon of light' with the rest of the world. This would really be great, if it wasn't for my incessant inability to accept fiction as a reality.

When I think of the Democracy, it is stubbornly resonates with the people who proudly and with a great sense of responsibility control their own destiny by making conscious choices.

Now... if an ability to make a free choice is a Democracy, then we've got it! We make all sorts of choices. It's having our government to follow them is the problem. We want our borders to be protected. We choose to have a better health system. We make decision to have our jobs protected from being outsourced overseas. We want our soldiers to have jobs when they come back from the war in Iraq. But somehow our government doesn't know that we live in Democracy, and all the choices we make are ignored.

My idea of Democracy is an ability to have a vote on every important issue that we face and have our government comply with it or out they go - impeach the scoundrels.

We should be able to use our phones and the Internet to vote , just like we make all sorts of payments. Yet, in American Democracy, our ability to vote is constantly impeded. And giving us the power and ability to vote with an ease is not on our government's agenda - they would lose the control over American Democracy.

So, may be, until we build a proper Democracy of the People, we shouldn't try to export the fake.
