'Conscious America’ is a site designed, in hope, to show that we can control many critical aspects of our lives, if we choose to accept responsibility for the choices that we make.

| Congratulations, America, on passing CAFTA! | Date Released: 08/02/2005 |
| After years of an 'incredibly successful' run of NAFTA, millions of Mexicans, who, as a result, unable to contain 'the joy of prosperity that NAFTA had brought to their country', cross the borders of America in droves (several millions a year), to get a little respite, I suppose. They are overwhelmed by many American businesses that had moved to Mexico to offer 'better wages, higher standards of employment and other social and economic improvements'.
The reality of it is, that since NAFTA was introduced, wages in Mexico had fallen by 20%, poverty had increased by 25% and rises, and no one cares to count the number of work-related injuries and deaths, while working for less than $10 a day, in so many American companies that moved to Mexico in order to save a buck.
Now, that we had allowed so many of American companies to abandon already established standards and norms that are still common here in the U.S. and move to Mexico, they (American businesses) begun to realize that they could do even better than $8 to $10 a day per worker, and create an almost slave-like employment standards moving deeper into South America.
CAFTA agreement was passed by the Congress and is signed by the President. You could argue that it wasn't me, it was the government! But that is our government - yours and mine. We pay them and we will pay for the Evil they do in our name.
The only thing that is left to say is: "Congratulations America!" And to South America: "Here we come!"
